SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Kukdo Chemical (Kunshan) Co’s 70,000 tonne/year epoxy resins plant in China’s Jiangsu province is currently shut for regular maintenance, a company source said on Tuesday.
The plant in Kunshan was taken off line on 5 December, the source said.
The company has sufficient inventory to continue supplying epoxy resins to customers during the plant’s shutdown, the source said.
Demand is slow at the end of the year and thus inventory stock suffices, the source added.
Maintenance works are on schedule so far and the plant is expected to be back on stream as planned on 15 December, the source said.
Meanwhile, Kukdo Chemical (Kunshan) has no plans to purchase more epichlorohydrin (ECH) raw material in view of the ongoing maintenance at its epoxy resins plant.
Kukdo Chemical (Kunshan) is a unit of South Korean producer Kukdo Chemical Co Ltd.
