LONDON (ICIS)--Oxea has completed an expansion of its carboxylic acid production capacity in Oberhausen, Germany, and is nearing completion of a new plant, the oxo chemicals specialist said on Wednesday.
The additional capacity, which is expected to come on stream in coming weeks, will expand Germany-headquartered Oxea’s carboxylic acid production by 10%. The company declined to disclose its total carboxylic acid production capacity.
Oxea is also nearing completion of a new production facility for the material, also in Oberhausen. Known as Carboxylic Acid Plant 3, the company broke ground on the facility in February this year, and completion is expected in the first quarter of 2013.
“The increased capacity not only improves our flexibility and capability to support our customers in their growth, it also strengthens our position as the leading global manufacturer of carboxylic acids – and the one with the broadest portfolio of these products,” said Miguel Mantas, a member of Oxea’s executive board.
The new plant will bring Oxea’s total number of carboxylic acid production facilities worldwide to five.
