HOUSTON (ICIS)--ExxonMobil has resumed production at its Baton Rouge cracker in Louisiana after a brief outage last week, market sources said on Wednesday.

The outage was caused by a power outage, according to information in the market. The company has 1m tonnes/year of ethylene capacity in Baton Rouge.

An ExxonMobil spokesperson last week confirmed that the company had experienced an equipment malfunction at the site that resulted in flaring.

However, the spokesperson did not comment on the operational status of the unit other than to say that ExxonMobil was meeting all contractual commitments.

The spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request seeking a further update
