CP Kelco to expand carboxymethyl cellulose capacity in Finland

HOUSTON (ICIS)--CP Kelco plans to expand its carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) capacity at its plant in Aanekoski, Finland, the company said on Wednesday.

In the next 12-18 months, CP Kelco will expand the capacity by up to 25%, the company said.

CP Kelco did not disclose the plant's capacity or the project's value.

Carboxymethyl cellulose, also known as cellulose gum, is a water-soluble polymer made from cellulose. They function as thickeners, water binders and emulsifiers.
