US ethanol stocks increase even as production, imports fall

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ethanol stocks rose even as production levels and imports decreased last week, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) on Wednesday.

Ethanol stocks for the week that ended on 7 December were at 20.0m bbl, up 3.6% from 19.3m bbl a week earlier.

Meanwhile, ethanol production was at 824,000 bbl/day, down from 835,000 bbl/day, the previous week.

Year on year, ethanol production is down 12.2% from 938,000 bbl/day. 

Imports fell to 12,000 bbl, down from 92,000 bbl a week earlier.
