SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Company (ZRCC) has shut its 250,000 tonne/year polypropylene (PP) plant in Zhejiang province on 13 December because of a technical issue, a company source said on Thursday.

ZRCC plans to restart the PP plant in six days’ time, the source added.

Meanwhile, the producer will be operating its other 300,000 tonne/year PP unit at normal rates during this period, the source said.

Local distributors said the plant's shutdown will reduce the supply to the domestic market, as ZRCC is one of the major PP producers in east China.
