NEW YORK (ICIS)--US November styrene contracts settled at 78-82 cents/lb ($1,720-1,808/tonne, €1,307-1,374/tonne) on Friday, up by an average of 2 cents/lb from the previous month.
The increase was in line with supplier price increases, which stemmed from the record-high November feedstock benzene contract.
November styrene contracts settled flat to an increase of 5 cents/lb from October.
Producers issued November price increases of 6-7 cents/lb.
Although US November styrene contracts increased on average, producers did not issue any price increases for December styrene contracts.
The producers’ decision to not raise prices came despite a December record-high feedstock benzene settlement at $4.93/gal.
