China’s PTM Engineering to shut POM plant in ’13 for maintenance

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s PTM Engineering Plastics plans to shut its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) resin facility in Nantong, Jiangsu province, for maintenance in the summer, a company source said on Tuesday.

The exact dates of the turnaround have not been fixed, the source added.

The summer months in China are typically between end-May and early September.

PTM, which produces copolymer acetal, is a joint venture between Japanese companies Polyplastics and Mitsubishi Gas Chemical as well as Korea Engineering Plastics and US-based specialty chemical producer Ticona.
