LONDON (ICIS)--Kem One, the business created this year from vinyl operations formerly owned by Arkema, has appointed Marco Toscano as chief operating officer (COO) of its downstream operations, the company said on Tuesday.
Toscano, who had joined Arkema as general manager of its Resilia PVC subsidiary in 2008, is to serve as COO of Kem One’s Innovative Vinyls business, which focuses on the company’s downstream activities. He will also serve as a member of the Kem One executive committee.
The company has also announced plans to expand production capacity of PVC emulsions by 7,000 tonnes/year. The expansion will take place at the company’s site in Hernani, Spain, increasing the site’s PVC emulsion capacity to 42,000 tonnes/year, the company said.
Kem One’s Innovative Vinyls business focuses on the downstream activities of compound production – via the company’s Resinoplast subsidiary – and PVC profiles production through its Alphacan division.
The company was formed in July 2012 through the sale of Arkema’s vinyl products division to Switzerland-headquartered industrial business specialist Klesch group.
