LONDON (ICIS)--Dutch chemicals distributor Caldic has completed the acquisition of Sollaari, a Finnish food ingredients supplier, the company said on Thursday.
Representing Caldic’s second food ingredients company acquisition this year – following its purchase of Canadian distributor Nealanders International in October – the purchase expands the company’s presence in the Nordic and Baltic food ingredients markets.
Sollaari’s business activities with be integrated into Caldic’s, the company added.
The Sollaari and Nealanders acquisitions bring Caldic’s total global workforce to 1,100 people, with food ingredients now representing 45% of its total sales.
“This strategic step will extend our expertise and network in the Nordic and Baltic markets,” said Caldic CEO Olav van Caldenborgh.
