TOKYO (ICIS)--Japan’s domestic shipments of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) resin fell by 12% to 18,967 tonnes in November from the same period a year earlier, official data from an industry association showed on Friday.
The country’s exports of ABS resin declined by 21% year on year to 9,158 tonnes, according to the Nihon ABS jushi kogyokai (Japan ABS resin industry association).
Among domestic shipments, 7,023 tonnes of ABS resin were used for automotive applications in November, a 37% decrease from the previous year; while domestic shipments of ABS resin for construction purposes rose by 1% to 2,023 tonnes, the data showed.
