The increase in buying interest was attributed to more competitively priced cargoes in November.
China’s combined imports of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) in Novermber totalled 1.16m tonnes, up by 8.7% from October but a 1.23% decline from the same period last year, official data showed.
Total PP imports in November were 487,200 tonnes, according to China Customs. PP imports rose by 5% from the same period a year ago and a 14% increase over October’s figures.
The country’s PE imports stood at 676,100 tonnes in November, a 5.2% increase from October but a decline by 5.3% compared with the same period last year.
