SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s JX Nippon Oil & Energy plans to shut its Mizushima-based paraxylene (PX) unit in end-January for a scheduled 40-day turnaround, a company source said on Thursday.

The unit, which has a nameplate PX capacity of 350,000 tonnes/year, will be restarted in the first half of March, the source said.

The Mizushima-based PX unit is currently operating at 100%, the source added.
