LONDON (ICIS)--An initial European January butadiene (BD) contract settlement has been agreed at €1,365/tonne ($1,796/tonne), down by €75/tonne from December, a major producer said on Thursday.
The contract which is agreed on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis has been confirmed by a second producer and two large consumers.
“This compromise reflects the current long market situation in butadiene in Europe, with concerns in [the] supply/demand balance for Q1 [the first quarter of] 2013” one of the large consumers said.
