Belgium's Solvay acquires control of India's Sunshield Chemicals

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Solvay has completed the acquisition of a controlling interest in India’s surfactants producer Sunshield Chemicals for an undisclosed price the Belgium chemicals company said on Thursday.

The acquisition, announced in September, will enable Solvay’s Novecare business to accelerate its development in India for home and personal care, agrochemicals, coatings and industrial markets, the company said.

Based in Mumbai, Sunshield Chemicals produces and exports surfactants, cross-linkers and antioxidants. The company is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
