NOON SNAPSHOT – Europe Markets Summary

LONDON (ICIS)--Here is Friday’s midday European oil and chemical market summary from ICIS.

CRUDE: February WTI: $91.04/bbl, up 17 cents/bbl. February BRENT: $110.73/bbl, down 7 cents/bbl
Futures prices edged up as investors looked ahead to the upcoming weekend talks between US lawmakers before the looming US budget deadline.

NAPHTHA: $965-971/tonne, up $5/tonne
The cargo range climbed on firming crude oil values. January swaps were assessed at $952-953/tonne.

BENZENE: $1,530-1,355/tonne, down $5-15/tonne
European benzene prices eased in morning trading. The few sources available described the market as very quiet. No price range was quoted for February.

STYRENE: $1,700-1,725/tonne, down $5/tonne
European styrene prices were slightly softer on the back of lower benzene spot values. With so few participants in the market, those that were available were expecting it to be a very quiet day.
