28 December 2012 20:29 [Source: ICIS news]HOUSTON (ICIS)--US refineries produced 268,000 bbl (34,053 tonnes) of paraffin wax (p-wax) in October, an increase of 0.02% from the prior month, according to data released on Friday by the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).
The October production represented a 6,000 bbl increase from the 262,000 bbl of p-wax produced in September, and an increase from the 265,000 bbl produced in October 2011.
For the year through October, US refineries produced 2.554m bbl of p-wax, EIA said.
In 2011, US refineries produced a total of 3.038m bbl of p-wax.
US p-wax producers include American Refining, Calumet Specialty Products, ExxonMobil, HollyFrontier and International Group.
