SINGAPORE (ICIS)–China’s Second West-to-East Gas Pipeline commenced whole-line operation on 30 December when its last section came on line at Nanning in southern China’s Guangxi province, the operator of the pipeline PetroChina announced on Monday.
Extending 8,704km, the Second West-to-East Gas Pipeline is the world’s longest gas pipeline, according to PetroChina sources.
The pipeline can transmit 30bn cubic metres of gas each year and continue stable operation for 30 years, the sources said.
