SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) has raised the operating rate at all its three naphtha crackers in Mailiao to 95% capacity in January, a company source said on Wednesday.

The source had earlier said that the company had planned to ramp up production this month to above 90% capacity.

FPCC operates a 700,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker, a 1.03m tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 1.2m tonne/year No 3 cracker in Mailiao. All three plants were running at 85% of capacity in December.

Separately, the No 2 cracker is on track for a scheduled turnaround from mid-September to end-October this year, he added.
