HOUSTON (ICIS)--Eastman Chemical was restarting its Longview 3A cracker in Texas after an unplanned holiday outage, the company said on Wednesday.

The 141,000 tonne/year unit was taken off line on 27 December after a freeze-related problem, which resulted in the loss of instrument air, a spokesperson said.

Eastman has a second cracker in Longview with 144,000 tonnes/year and a larger unit with 358,000 tonnes/year of ethylene capacity.
