HOUSTON (ICIS)--Williams Olefins has restarted its Geismar cracker in Louisiana, which was taken off line in mid December for repairs, market sources said on Wednesday.

The 612,000 tonne/year cracker, which was off line for only a few days, was restarted on 22 December, sources said.

Williams was heard to have declared force majeure on ethylene as a result of the outage.

A company spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
