HOUSTON (ICIS)--A pair of US styrene producers have come out with January contract price increases on Wednesday, following the record-high benzene contract settlement.

One styrene producer issued a January price increase of 4 cents/lb ($88/tonne, €67/tonne), while another came out with a price increase of 6 cents/lb.

Buyer reaction was not immediately available.

Despite the January styrene price increases, producers and consumers were still negotiating December styrene contracts. Producers did not issue any price increases for December styrene.

November styrene contracts remain settled at 78-82 cents/lb FOB.
