MELBOURNE (ICIS)--US-based acetyls producer Celanese has reduced its January price for butyl acetate (butac) by $30/tonnne (€23/tonne) from December, regional buyers said on Thursday.
The producer’s benchmark Singapore ex-tank price for butac is at $1,290/tonne ex-tank in January, down from $1,320/tonne ex-tank in December, the buyers said.
For ethyl acetate (etac), Celanese's January price at $980/tonne ex-tank is at a rollover from December, the buyers added.
Celanese’s plant in Singapore has a combined etac/butac capacity of 100,000 tonnes/year.
