SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics restarted its 360,000 tonne/year No 1 monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Mailiao on 31 December but is yet to achieve stable operations, a company source said on Thursday.
The plant was shut on 23 November for 40-45 days of turnaround with a government directive on safety checks, the source said.
The plant has so far not achieved stable operations and might take another couple of days because of some small facility issues, the source added.
Nan Ya’s other three MEG units in Mailiao, with a combined capacity of 1.44m tonne/year, are running at 100% capacity, the source said.
