HOUSTON (ICIS)--The Society of Chemical Industry (SCI) is awarding its Chemical Industry Medal to Dow Chemical CEO Andrew Liveris, the US trade group said on Thursday.
“He has established himself as a leading voice in the chemical industry and is recognised as a thought leader for issues confronting advanced manufacturing in the US and around the world,” SCI chair Ellen Kullman said.
The SCI will present Liveris with the medal on 12 March at an awards dinner in New York.
Liveris began working at Dow in 1976, with roles in manufacturing, engineering, sales, marketing, and business and general management. He became a member of board of directors in February 2004 and was named CEO in November 2004.
