Lower US jet fuel consumption leads to higher inventories

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Stockpiles for US jet fuel moved 1.6% higher, while consumption fell for the week ended 28 December, a government agency’s report showed on Friday.

Jet fuel inventories gained 60,000 bbl to 39.2m bbl, according to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Consumption rates were at 1.343m bbl/day, 110,000 bbl/day lower than the previous week’s rate of 1.453m bbl/day, the EIA said.

Meanwhile, production rates of jet fuel gained 69,000 bbl/day to 1.533m bbl/day for the week ended 28 December.
