SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Fujian Refining & Petrochemical shut its 400,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE)/linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) swing plant at Quanzhou in Fujian province on 6 January for scheduled maintenance, a company source said late on Sunday.
Maintenance at the plant, which mainly produces film-grade LLDPE, will last six days from 6 to 11 January, the source added.
Some market players said that the decreased in LLDPE supply from the shutdown in southern China market may have impact on the prices.
The prices of LLDPE in south China rose by yuan (CNY) 50/tonne ($8/tonne) to CNY11,350-11,450/tonne EXWH (ex-warehouse) on 6 January, according to ICIS.
Fujian Refining & Petrochemical is a subsidiary of Sinopec.
