S Korea’s Lotte Chemical buys 50,000 tonnes naphtha for H2 Feb

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Lotte Chemical Corp has bought 50,000 tonnes of spot naphtha for delivery to Daesan in the second half of February, traders said on Wednesday.

The deal for the two cargoes was done at a premium of $17.00/tonne (€12.96/tonne) to Japan quotes CFR (cost & freight), they added.

Lotte previously bought 75,000 tonnes of spot naphtha for delivery in the first half of February at a premium of around $16/tonne to Japan quotes CFR.

Previously known as Honam Petrochemical Corp, the company merged with subsidiary KP Chemical Corp, to become the new entity now called Lotte Chemical Corp with effect from 27 December last year. 

Honam Petrochemical Corp was the core company of the Lotte Group’s chemical division.
