LONDON (ICIS)--Production from industry, construction and mining in Germany rose by 0.2% in November from October but output in the country’s chemicals and pharmaceuticals sector fell slightly, according to data released on Wednesday.

Germany’s economics ministry said that industrial output rose by 0.4% and construction and building output rose by 1.0% in November from October. However, output in the energy sector fell.

November’s increase in overall output follows a revised 2.0% decline in October from September.

On a two-month sequential comparison – October-November versus August-September – overall productive output was down 2.5%, mainly because of a 2.9% decline in industrial output.

Compared with October-November 2011, overall output was down 3.0% year on year, with industrial output down 3.6% year on year and building and construction down 0.9%.

In a related release, Germany’s central bank said that its index for production in Germany’s chemicals and pharmaceuticals sector was 108.4 points in November, compared with 108.6 points in October. The index’s base year is 2005.
