SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Nan Ya Plastics plans to put off a planned turnaround for its 720,000 tonne/year No 4 monoethylene glycol (MEG) plant in Mailiao to early April from March, taking into account a longer period of preparation works required for the shutdown, a company source said on Thursday.

The duration of the turnaround will be lengthened to 45 days from the initial plan of 30 days, the source said.

Nan Ya has recently completed a 45-day turnaround at its 360,000 tonne/year No 1 MEG unit at the same site on 31 December 2012.

The unit is currently running at a stable rate of above 90% of capacity, the source said.

Nan Ya’s two other 360,000 tonne/year MEG units in Mailiao are running at above 90% of capacity, the company source said.
