SINGAPORE (ICIS)--South Korea’s Tongsuh Petrochemical will likely start up its 245,000 tonne/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant in Ulsan in the first quarter of this year, a company source said on Friday.
The new plant may start up in the first quarter but it has not been decided yet because the start-up will depend on the market situation at the time, the source said.
The company has another ACN line with a capacity of 320,000 tonnes/year at the same site.
Tongsuh Petrochemical is a fully-owned subsidiary of Japan’s Asahi Kasei, major ACN producer.
