SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Japan’s Nippon Shokubai resumed operations of its 35,000 tonne/year maleic anhydride (MA) plant at Himeji on 10 January after its suspension since late September, a company source said on Friday.

The MA plant operations were suspended after the explosion that occurred at its acrylic acid and super absorbent polymer facilities in late September 2012.

The producer will start offering MA material likely in end-January as it is still in the midst of analysing the quality of MA produced after the restart, the source said.
