SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Yisheng Petrochemical has maintained a low operating rate of around 30% at its new 3m tonne/year purified terephthalic acid (PTA) unit at Dalian in Liaoning province, a company source said on Friday.
The company started trial runs at the unit in mid-December, with on-spec production achieved by the end of last month, the source said.
“We have been keeping low operating rate at the unit because of [the] poor market situation,” the source said.
Only one of the three 1m tonne/year reactors of the new PTA plant is being operated, the source said.
Yisheng Petrochemical also runs a 2.5m tonne/year PTA plant at the site that is currently running at full capacity, the source said.
