HOUSTON (ICIS)--US December styrene contracts settled at an average increase of 1.25 cents/lb ($28/tonne, €21/tonne) from November, following higher feedstock benzene costs, trade participants said on Friday.
The increase took January styrene contract prices up to 79.25-83.25 cents/lb FOB (free on board), and was in line with initial contract settlements a week earlier at a rollover to an increase of 1.50 cents/lb.
Suppliers have already come out with January price increases based on the record-high January benzene contract.
