SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Inner Mongolia Tianye Chemical is running its 60,000 tonne/year polyacetal (POM) plant at Huhhot at 40-50% capacity, a company source said on Monday.

The plant has been running at this rate since December. However, the source did not specify the reasons for the lowered operating rates.

Other sellers in the market said POM sales is poor because of the uncertain global economy.

POM is an engineering plastic used in the automotive manufacturing.
