US melamine imports fell to 2,476 tonnes in November from 4,207 tonnes in November of 2011.
Imports fell in November mainly because of a decline in product brought in from Trinidad & Tobago.
November imports fell from 2,939 tonnes in October.
The Netherlands at 802 tonnes was the major source of US melamine imports, followed by Trinidad & Tobago at 800 tonnes, Germany at 492 tonnes and China at 366 tonnes.
The US exported 2,886 tonnes of melamine in November, up from 2,779 tonnes in October.
The United Kingdom at 1,160 tonnes was the major destination for US melamine, followed by Romania at 480 tonnes, Canada at 246 tonnes, Germany at 220 tonnes and Italy at 200 tonnes.
Other destinations included Ireland, Belgium, Norway, Russia and Colombia.
