HOUSTON (ICIS)--US butadiene (BD) exports for November were down by 7.4% year on year, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday.
Exports decreased to 2,419 tonnes from 2,613 tonnes in November 2011, according to the ITC.
All but 5 tonnes of November BD went to Mexico.
Year to date, exports have totalled 57,513 tonnes through November, an increase of 7.4% for the same period in 2011.
Imports amounted to 50,961 tonnes, up by 1.6% in November year on year.
Iraq, Venezuela and Saudi Arabia were the top three ports of origin for BD shipped to the US in November.
For the year to date, 546,999 tonnes have been imported, a decrease of 20% over the same period in 2011.
US producers of BD include ExxonMobil, INEOS Olefins & Polymer, LyondellBasell, Sabina Petrochemicals, Shell Chemical and TPC Group.
