US November ammonia imports down by 11% year on year

HOUSTON (ICIS)--US ammonia imports in November were down by about 11% from the same month in 2011, according to data made available by the US International Trade Commission (ITC) on Monday
US ammonia imports declined to 470,279 tonnes in November from 527,235 tonnes in November 2011.
Imports fell in November on reduced imports from the ?xml:namespace>Ukraine.
November imports decreased from 530,803 tonnes imported in October .
Trinidad and Tobago at 274,323 tonnes was the major source of US ammonia imports, followed by Canada at 111,145 tonnes, Russia at 39,246 tonnes and Turkey at 23,415 at tonnes.
Other sources included Ukraine, Venezuela and Columbia.
Year to date through November, the US imported a total of 5,762,774 tonnes of ammonia. By: Mark Milam
