NOON SNAPSHOT - Asia Markets Summary

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Here is Tuesday’s midday Asia oil and chemical markets summary.

CRUDE: Feb WTI $93.92/bbl, down 22 cents/bbl; Feb BRENT $111.67/bbl, down 21 cents/bbl
Crude futures softened in the morning trade, giving back some of the gains made in the previous session amid a firmer US dollar.

NAPHTHA: $949.50-952.50/tonne CFR Japan, up $6.50-7.50/tonne
Open-spec second-half February contract rose in morning trading on overnight gains in global crude futures.

BENZENE: $1,370-1,380/tonne FOB Korea, down $5/tonne at the low end
Bids were lower for February shipments at $1,370/tonne FOB Korea. Offers for March parcels were at $1,380-1,385/tonne FOB Korea.

TOLUENE: $1,292-1,305/tonne FOB Korea, down $5/tonne at the high end
Offers for second-half February were lower at $1,305-1,310/tonne FOB Korea. Offers for March cargoes were at $1,315/tonne FOB Korea.

ETHYLENE: $1,340-1,370/tonne CFR NE Asia, steady
Selling indications were stable, with quotes at above $1,400/tonne CFR NE Asia, but this generally failed to attract interest.

PROPYLENE: $1,330-1,340/tonne CFR NE Asia, stable
A wide buy-sell gap continued to hamper trade. Selling ideas at around $1,350/tonne CFR NE Asia were met with buying ideas at the low-$1,300/tonne CFR NE Asia levels.
