Sinopec Maoming Petchem cuts crude run by 19% on pipeline spill

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Sinopec Maoming Petrochemical has reduced its daily crude throughout by 19% to 38,000 tonnes after an oil leak at the Zhanjiang-Maoming crude pipeline on 13 January, a company source said on Tuesday.

The leak was contained on Monday with about 10 tonnes of crude spilled into a local river.

The refiner may ramp up its throughput to 47,000 tonnes/day in two or three days, according to the source.  

Sinopec Maoming runs a 360,000 bbl/day refinery that mainly processes sour crude from the Middle East.
