SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Shanghai Huayi Acrylic Acid cut operating rates at its acrylic acid (AA) and acrylate esters facility on 10 January because of a technical glitch, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company is currently operating its butyl acrylate (butyl-A) and crude AA units at about 50% capacity, the source said.

The total nameplate capacity for its butyl-A production stands at 210,000 tonnes/year, while its total capacity for crude AA is at 210,000 tonnes/year.

Meanwhile, the company’s 40,000 tonne/year ethyl acrylate/methyl acrylate swing plant is shut, the source added.
