SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) is expected to start operating its new Zhuhai-Macau gas pipeline in June this year, a company source said on Wednesday.
The company started construction of the last section of the pipeline on 8 January, according to the source.
The 7.7km pipeline can transport 520m cubic metres (cbm) of natural gas each year.
The new line is built to replace an existing one, which interferes with the new urbanisation plan of Zhuhai city, he said.
The existing pipeline has suspended operation since 1 June 2011.
CNOOC produces gas from its offshore field at south China sea and mainly supplies consumers in Zhuhai, Zhongshan and Macau.
