China's Daqing Petrochemical to restart cracker in February

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--China’s Daqing Petrochemical plans to restart its 600,000 tonne/year naphtha cracker at Daqing city in Heilongjiang province before the Spring Festival holiday, a company source said on Friday.

The holiday, which also marks the start of Lunar New Year, falls on 9-15 February in China.

Its derivative 250,000 tonne/year and 300,000 tonne/year high density polyethylene (HDPE)/ linear low density PE (LLDPE) swing plants also may be restarted before the Spring Festival holiday, but the exact time has not been confirmed, a source from the eastern branch of PetroChina added.

These plants experienced a fire incident on 30 November 2012.
