LONDON (ICIS)--Praxair has launched a new air separation plant to supply gaseous oxygen and nitrogen to Indian wire and wire rope manufacturer Usha Martin, the US-headquartered industrial gases company said on Friday.

The facility, the third established by Praxair to supply Usha Martin, has a capacity of 130 tonnes/day of gaseous oxygen and 65 tonnes/day of gaseous nitrogen, the company said.

The products will be supplied to Usha Martin’s Jamshedpur steel mill, where Praxair has been operating two oxygen plants with a capacity of 220 tonnes/day of oxygen since 2000. The new facility is now onstream, Praxair added.
