CAMPINAS, Brazil (ICIS)--Brazil's Chamber of Foreign Trade (Camex) temporarily reduced the polyester partially oriented yarn (POY) imports tariff from 18% to 2%, it said on Friday.

The measure takes place immediately and will last 180 days, Camex said.

The imports tariff decrease is valid only for companies that import up to 88,000 tonnes of the product to Brazil, it said.

Camex said it reduced the imports tariff as a way to prevent a lack of the product in the domestic market.
