LONDON (ICIS)--Bayer CropScience, a subsidiary of Germany-based chemicals major Bayer, has completed its acquisition of microbial crop protection products supplier Prophyta, the company said on Monday.
Based on the island of Poel in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, Prophyta manufactures products based on biological control agents, and employs 30 full-time staff.
The acquisition also includes the company’s product portfolio, research and development laboratories, and production and formulation facilities, Bayer CropScience said. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
“Prophyta´s patented technology platform significantly boosts Bayer CropScience´s ability to offer growers worldwide novel technology and complete agricultural solutions,” said Bayer CropScience board member Rudiger Scheitza.
