SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Taiwan’s Formosa Petrochemical Corp (FPCC) plans to raise the operating rate across its three naphtha crackers in Mailiao to 100% capacity in February, a company source said on Tuesday.

The company planned to ramp up production next month because of improved demand for ethylene from the key derivative polyethylene (PE) sector, the source said.

FPCC operates a 700,000 tonne/year No 1 cracker, a 1.03m tonne/year No 2 cracker and a 1.2m tonne/year No 3 cracker in Mailiao. All three plants were running at 95% of capacity in January.
