SINGAPORE (ICIS)--German chemicals major BASF said on Wednesday it will directly distribute its range of crop production products in Australia effective 1 March 2014 following the expiry of a distribution agreement with Nufarm.
The BASF product portfolio has been distributed in the Australian market by Nufarm subsidiary Nufarm Australia and Crop Care since 2004, the company said in a statement.
“To invest further in our portfolio of innovations for sustainable agriculture in Australia, we have taken the strategic decision to re-enter the market in our own right,” said Raman Ramachandran, senior vice president, BASF crop protection Asia Pacific.
