SINGAPORE (ICIS)--AkzoNobel has appointed Graeme Armstrong as managing director of surface chemistry and country director for North America, effective 1 April this year, the Netherlands-based coatings and specialty chemicals group said on Wednesday.

He will succeed Bod Margevich who has chosen to retire, AkzoNobel said in a statement.

Armstrong is currently the executive committee member responsible for research, development, and innovation (RD&I), the company said.

He will continue his RD&I responsibilities until a successor is found, it added.
