LONDON (ICIS)--The European monoethylene glycol (MEG) January contract settlement at €1,068/tonne ($1,424/tonne) has been followed along with an initial February price agreement at €1,105/tonne, the buyer involved said on Wednesday.

Both settlements were done on a free delivered (FD) northwest Europe (NWE) basis.

The initial January settlement was agreed up by €20/tonne on 9 January, and was met with opposition from suppliers proposing higher prices.

Another customer said it was not pleased with the February number.

The producer involved in the settling of the double-month agreement was not available for comment.
